Hello everyone,
As most of you have no doubt noticed, I have not been on WoW much lately. My new promotion at work has landed me shifts that are not kind to online gaming.
But now down to the business of the matter, and the title of this thread...
I am going to be going on a bit of a hiatus from wow. What that means is that I am going to be taking a break. I have played along side all of you for a long time, some of you for over a year, and it has been more fun than you can imagine.
Some of you came to us seeking friendship, and I hope that you have found it. Some of you came seeking brotherhood, and it has always been my goal to present that to you all.
I am also proud to say that I have seen many of you grow as people through your actions in the Aegis.
The reasons for this break are many. I have long said that the main reason I play wow is because of the guild and the people in it, and that remains true. As I stated above, I have been playing this game for a long time, and I have many fond memories of it and the people I have met. I've made what I hope to be life long friends, and people that I intend to meet some day here within the halls of this guild.
For me, WoW has been more than a game. And the hardest part about this break is not that I will be missing out on "phat loot" but that I will be unable to play with you all.
There-in however lies the beauty of this guild. Our friendship and care for one-another transcends this game, it even transcends the internet over where we conduct our business.
I know there are more than a few people here who are proud to call each other friend. And more still who have truly begun to understand the bond of brotherhood which we have all strived so hard to create. Again, I am proud to say that we have long achieved that goal, and have become by far one of the most successful organizations I have been a part of. We have overcome many foes, many hardships and many misunderstandings to evolve into something that most guilds can only dream of. We care for each other beyond the game.
Let it be known that no one who has been a part of the Aegis is mere pixels on a screen. Your success and triumphs in game echo beyond wow. They reflect the player and the person that you really are.
Know that with every promotion, and every guild speech I have given, I have not given as Heios to fake characters in a game. I have given them as Gavin, to the the friends I have met in this wow universe. And with that I am more than proud to have had the honor to call you all my brothers, and sisters.
It has long been a goal of mine to bring people together under a common banner where we can work and play and strive together in an environment of understanding, openness and friendship. It is my sincere hope that I have had a hand in creating that for everyone here.
I could say a hundred things about each and every one of you that has inspired me to continue playing this game, and working to create the Aegis into what it has become today. And know that each step of the way, it is not I who carried this guild, it is WE who built it, we who have made it what it is. And despite this being an online issue, it is something that everyone here should be proud of, I know I am.
Please note! This is by no means a good bye! I am still here, and I will still be around! Many of you have been to our "Teamspeak" and we have had many good, hearty conversations there. And it is there that you will find me.

This Team speak is open to all of you here in the Aegis, and I expect to hear from all of you!
I understand that my hiatus causes a bit of an issue in terms of progression of the guild. And while some of you are still low level, I know that many of you have goals of progression in WoW.
I will not expect you to remain in a guild with a leader who is on leave. So it is absolutely understandable if you decide that you would like to find another guild to fulfill your wow needs. On the flip side of that coin, The Aegis will by no means be disbanded, and I leave it in the capable hands of all of you to continue the tradition we have started.
All that I ask is that we remember who we are. Things change, as time goes by. Remember what you have learned here in the Aegis. Remember what you have accomplished, not only in game, but with the help of your friends here. Remember what the good things are that you have done to make us strong, and believe me, all of you have done something.
Again, this is not a good bye. We have all grown to close to allow a game to come between our friendships. As I stated above, EVERYONE here has an open invitation to Team Speak. Many of you have used this in the past to communicate with ingame things. But I would like to see you all around it more. Know that my doors are always open.
Remember;
As your tank it has been my duty to shield you from harm.
As your leader, it has been my duty to show you what you are capable of.
As your friend it is my duty to be your helping hand and your shoulder to hang on.
And in all things, it is my honor to know you, and my privileged to be a part of your lives. Let us again remember that this goes beyond a game, and drives deep to the core of who we are. The Aegis will not fade because it is only a title, what we truly are, is what we are to each other.
